ELI Webinar Schedule – November/December Fall 2009

A webinar is a web-based seminar.  Using the computer of your choice, you will be able to see the presentation and listen in using your computer speakers.  A microphone is not required as a text chat feature will be utilized during the webinars for participants to ask questions.  All webinars are free; however, registration is required.  Follow the instructions below to register for a webinar:

Individuals registering for the webinar will be sent a registration confirmation e-mail no later than the morning of the webinar that includes instructions for accessing the webinar.  Send an e-mail to elicounselors@nvcc.edu if you have any questions or encounter any problems with registration. 

Getting Ready for Your Next Semester

This 45 minute webinar for NOVA students will focus on answering key questions students have about what courses to enroll in for their next semester.  Topics covered will include program identification, college resources, degree progress reports, and course selection.

Strategies for Success in Distance Learning Courses

This 45 minute webinar for NOVA students will focus on strategies for success in distance learning courses offered through ELI.  Topics covered will include time management, tutoring services, and study skills.

Exploring Careers Online

This 30 minute webinar will focus on researching careers online and identifying free assessments available to students to assist with career exploration.

Understanding Distance Learning and NOVA’s Extended Learning Institute (ELI)

This 45 minute webinar will focus on identifying critical dates for ELI courses, searching for open courses, identifying course information, understanding the different course formats, and identifying questions students should consider prior to enrolling in an ELI course.

Where are the Scholarships?

This 30 minute webinar for NOVA students will focus on identifying scholarships currently available, reviewing qualifications for scholarships, and completing NOVA’s scholarship application.
