New Online Tutoring at NOVA!

Smarthinking is an online tutoring service that Northern Virginia Community College is making available for free to its students enrolled in courses offered through the Extended Learning Institute. Smarthinking provides tutoring in a variety of subjects, some are available 24/7.  View SMARTHINKING's subject descriptions and times available.

With Smarthinking you can:

• Connect With a Tutor and interact live (See live, drop in tutoring examples)
• Submit your Writing for any class to their Online Writing Lab (See an essay submission example)
• Submit a Question and receive a reply from a tutor (See an offline question submission example)
  

Getting Started

• For your username enter "NVCC" + the first part (up to the @ symbol) of your VCCS student email address (example "NVCCabc1234")

• For your password enter "NVCC". The first time you log in with this password, click the "About me" tab on your SMARTHINKING homepage and change your password to something that you will remember.
