Online Schedule of Classes

The online Schedule of Classes includes all NVCC course offerings - distance and traditional. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Locate and click on the specific term you wish to search (example: Fall 2006).
  2. Choose your subject area (example: SOC for Sociology).
  3. Choose your campus. Choose ELI-Distance Learning as the campus and Dynamic Session as the session to locate ELI courses only. ELI courses can be identified by the E in the section number. Choose a specific NVCC campus for campus-based distance courses. NVCC campuses list all course offerings; campus-based distance courses are embedded in the entire list. Therefore, read the course descriptions carefully to identify which are specifically distance courses.
  4. Click Search.
  5. Locate a course section you want to take and note the 5-digit class number as you will need it to register.

Print Schedule of Classes

A new Schedule of Classes is published for each semester and available free-of-charge on the NVCC campuses. Campus-based distance learning courses are embedded in campus listings. Check the Table of Contents for specific pages. Read the course descriptions carefully to identify which courses are specifically distance courses. Campus-based distance learning courses may be described as "World Wide Web," "Taught on the Internet," or "Web and Campus."

Distance learning courses offered through the Extended Learning Institute are listed in the Extended Learning Institute (ELI) distance learning section at the back of the printed Schedule of Classes. Check the Table of Contents for specific pages. Carefully read the notes which follow each course listing for specific information (e.g. type of course, if in-person meetings will be required, what technology will be used.)

While course numbers remain the same for both traditional and distance courses, note that section numbers of ELI (Extended Learning Institute) distance learning courses all begin with the letter "E." For example, a section number of an ELI distance ENG111 course is "E86W". When you locate a course section you want to take, note the 5-digit class number as you will need it to register.
