Before submitting your question, you may want to review the information found here: College Credit Through Advanced Standing. This manual contains information on NOVA’s policies and procedures for earning credit for your prior learning in the following ways:

1. credit from other institutions,
2. credit from professional training programs and the military,
3. credit by exam (such as CLEP and DSST exams), and
4. PLACE (Prior Learning Activity for Credit Evaluation), NOVA’s portfolio development class. 

(Students who enroll in PLACE create portfolios detailing their work/life experience in order to challenge specific NOVA classes in their program of study.  For additional information on PLACE, click here).
